Some functional training with my 70+ year old client. We love doing boxing! Today she joked about how boxers get beat up, wiped clean whilst in the corner, then sent out for another beating 😂 .
Equipment used today. TRX suspension trainer, RMT hammer, Battleropes and agility ladders.
🏋️♀️ The TRX is awesome to provide resistance training, whilst giving us the ability to adjust the difficulty within seconds. My client can also have added support whilst performing difficult balancing exercises such as lunges.
🔨 RMT hammer is used for core, obliques and shoulder and lats work. I used this instead of dumbbells today, so turning convential moves like squat, into squat and hammer slams! Adds a whole new dynamics to simple movement patterns.
👟 Agility ladder is used more for coordination and muscle memory in footwork rather than the conventional explosive HIIT style workouts. We go slow and controlled, working on changing directions, balance and feet placement.
🥊 Battleropes and boxing is our cardio part of our workout. Working on as many reps as we can within a 1-2 minute round. As my client cannot jump or go on the floor, so burpees are out of the question! We can get her heart rate up a bit and have fun doing so!
